Type your text and copy it upside down. The flipped letters are Unicode look-alikes, so your friends will be turning their phones around.

How to flip text
Type or paste your text in the box. The upside down version is at the top of the list.
Press Copy and paste it wherever you like.
The other styles are further down, including backwards text and bubble letters, in case you want to mix them.
Fun ways to use it
Pranks: send a friend a message that only makes sense upside down.
Bios: a flipped line is an easy way to stand out.
Hidden punchlines: put the answer to a joke or riddle in upside down text, so nobody reads it by accident.
Australian greetings: G'day from down under, flipped.
A trick to read it
Rotate your phone or tilt your head. To turn it back into normal text, use the cipher identifier for other codes, or try a real cipher if you want something that takes more than a tilt to read.
There is no upside down font. The generator reverses your text and swaps each letter for a Unicode character that looks like it turned over, such as ɐ for a and ǝ for e. Those characters come from phonetic alphabets and other symbol sets, and they stay flipped wherever you paste them.
Why is my text backwards as well as flipped?
Turning a page upside down also reverses the reading order, so the generator does the same. Rotate your phone and the text reads normally, left to right.
Why do some letters look a bit off?
Not every letter has a perfect flipped twin in Unicode, so some capitals and digits use the closest match. Lowercase usually looks best. Letters that look the same either way, such as o, s, x and z, stay as they are.
Where can I use upside down text?
Most chat apps, social posts and bios accept it. Some older devices may show boxes for rarer characters, and screen readers will not read it as normal words, so keep it for jokes.
